Breed photographs on Breed Right are freely licensed images — Creative Commons or public domain — used with the credit their licence requires. They illustrate the breed, not any individual dog: wherever a library photo stands in for a listing, the page says so.
Photographs of individual dogs and litters are uploaded by the breeder who owns them, and remain theirs. We do not take images from other breeding directories.
222 of 227 Royal Kennel Club recognised breeds currently have a licensed photograph (222 images in total). The remaining 5 show a Breed Right placeholder until we find one that is properly licensed — we would rather show nothing than something we do not have permission to use.

We do not own the breed photographs and cannot license them on to you. Each one is linked to its source above — follow the link and use it under its own terms. The Breed Right name, logo, page designs and written content are ours.
Something wrong with a credit?
If you are the photographer of an image here and the credit is wrong, or you would rather it were not used at all, tell us and we will correct or remove it. We do not need you to prove anything first.
